Based on contemporary theories of religious and moral education, this curriculum aims at helping learners:
To acquire knowledge about the Christian faith
Students will learn about the Christian faith through stories of different Bible characters, the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, Christian beliefs, as well as the side-notes that provide extra information on relevant historical backgrounds and theological explanations.
To relate the Christian faith to their everyday life
Students will be able to explore the meanings of the Christian faith and ethics that they have learned during the course of their lives.
To cultivate a positive outlook on life
Students will come to understand the identity and value of mankind and will cultivate a positive outlook on life through learning God’s great love and redemption.
To foster critical reflection and thinking
From the angle of the Christian faith, students will give critical reflection and judgement on popular culture and current values of our society, and hence reconsider their own values and develop a character of virtues such as responsibility, respect, justice, integrity, and love etc.
